Corine Denson

Corine (Davis) Denson, age 69, of Trotwood, Ohio, went home to the Lord on March 30, 2026, at 6:02 AM. Corine was surrounded by the love of her family, who stayed by her side until she was called home to the Lord. Corine was born in Midway, Alabama, on September 2, 1956, to the late Charlie Davis Sr. and Louise (Streeter) Davis. 

In addition to her parents, she will be reunited in heaven with her daughter, Natasha Denson; her sisters, Mary Louise (Cobb) Davis and Elizabeth (Pool) Sanders. 

Corine leaves behind her loving husband of 54 years, John Denson Sr., with whom she shared three children: her daughter, LaShauna (“Nicki”) Denson; her son, John (“Pee-wee”) Denson Jr.; grandchildren Raejuantae Sumlin, Najee Denson, Miyracle Jackson, Raelah Sumlin, Johniah Denson, and Dea-Ajasha Jackson; one great-grandson, Noah Denson; one great-granddaughter, Armani Sumlin; and a host of relatives and friends to cherish her memory. 

Corine was a bright spirit who touched everyone she encountered. She shaped so many lives and left a lasting impact on people, especially her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and mother figure to many. Corine was truly a social butterfly, talking to anyone in her vicinity and blessing them with her presence. 

Corine was a family woman through and through—don’t let her irritation fool you. She enjoyed taking care of her family. If you needed a listening ear, she was there for you. If you were hungry and needed food, she had a plate for you. If you needed someone to call at 3:00 AM, she would answer. Corine loved music; put on a song with a catchy beat, and she would be up dancing around no matter where she was. 

Corine’s eldest daughter, whom she will be joining in heaven, gifted her a dog by the name of Riley, whom she referred to as her last baby. Corine loved the Lifetime channel and the show “Little House on the Prairie.” If the channel was not on the news, best believe it was on one of those channels. 

Although we are saddened to see her go and to no longer be able to see and talk to her, we know she is excited to be reunited with her eldest daughter, whom we lost too soon and miss dearly, Natasha Denson, as well as her parents, Charlie and Louise, and her sisters, Mary and Elizabeth.

Visitation to honor Corine Denson will be held on April 10, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Dayton, Ohio, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with services to follow immediately after. She will be laid to rest after the funeral services at West Memory Gardens. Following the burial, the family will be celebrating her life at 6542 N Union Rd, Clayton, OH 45315.
