Corey Eugene Mintz

Corey Eugene Mintz, age 39 of Riverside, passed away at home, surrounded by his family on April 11, 2017, after a long battle with cancer. Corey was born in Dayton to proud parents, Linda and Jerry Mintz. He graduated in 1996 from Stebbins High School and went on to attend Bluffton College. Corey had a love for dogs and enjoyed spending time with his Bull Mastiff, Dozier. He enjoyed sports, stand up comedy, writing, and film production. Corey loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind, caring, and creative soul. Corey will be greatly missed by all who loved him.

Corey was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Mary Ellen Bowman, Jr., and Marie Burchett Mintz and aunt Ava Mintz; and great-grandmother, Alberta England and uncle Bill Simmons.

Corey leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Jerry and Linda Mintz; brother, Jerry (Melissa) Mintz; niece, Ashley; nephew, Dylan; aunts and uncles, Birdie and Dennis Livesay, Sheila Simmons and Gerald Bowman; Don (Debbie) Debbie Mintz; caregivers and close friends, Stephanie Weiland and Tori Dishon and many other loving relatives and friends. Also a special thank you to Monica Rogers of Hospice of Dayton and Dr. Nanda and all of her staff in the oncology Dept. for all of the caring, compassionate treatment that he received.

A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, on Friday, April 14, 2017 from 5pm - 8pm. Funeral Services will be held the following day, Saturday, April 15, 2017 beginning at 12pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek, Ohio.
