Dr. Connie Marie Luers McLaughlin went joyfully to the Lord on March 22, 2026. She was born to Alvin and Marilyn Luers on October 14, 1957 in Reading, Ohio.
Connie attended high school at Lancaster High School (Ohio) and graduated from The Ohio State University with a bachelors degree in Physical Therapy, and Boston University with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. At any give time, you could catch Connie performing PT on anyone, anywhere.
Connie was a very caring and loving person who was very intentional about helping people. She went on quite a few missions trips, including to Kenya (twice), Honduras, and Costa Rica (twice), performing physical therapy and other acts of service.
Connie met her future husband, John, in 2012, and they married on May 19, 2018. After she retired in July 2021, Connie enjoyed spending time with John and her family. She loved all her grandkids and always had something planned for them to do. She enjoyed working to beautify the inside of her home and her yard. Connie and John enjoyed taking motorcycle rides together. Connie volunteered her time serving at Camp Jabez, where she enjoyed working with horses and sometimes she even performed physical therapy on them...no one was immune to her physical therapy treatments. She also spent time working at the Fairborn FISH Food Pantry. Connie served local university international students, where she made international meals that challenged her culinary skills.
Despite Connie overcoming many obstacles, she lived her life to the fullest, with the Lord being in the center. Although having only one biological child, she was honored to be very much involved in the lives of her bonus family, including four adults and nine grandchildren. They loved her and considered her to be an integral part of the family.
Connie is survived by her husband, John McLaughlin; son Jeff (Amy) Hunter; grandchildren Emmylou Hunter and Julius Hunter and father Alvin Luers. She also leaves behind her step daughter Jennifer (Shawn) Joers and step son Tim (Kristin) McLaughlin as well as her bonus grandchildren Micah, Mia, Malachi, Sophia, Josiah, Miles, Karissa, Maisie and Maddox. Her loving siblings Cathy (Joe) Young, Karen Smith, Mike (Tracy) Luers, Matt (Corinne) Luers and Laura (Brandon Lane) Taylor as well as many nieces and nephews are also left behind to cherish Connie's memory.
Connie was preceded in death by her mother Marilyn Luers, stepmother Mary Ann Luers, siblings Kimberly Luers and Mark Luers, and nieces Marilyn Young and Nicole Luers.
Per Connie's wishes she would like donations to be made to the Fairborn FISH Food Pantry.
