Connie S. Ellison, 78, passed away on September 29, 2026. Born on February 21, 1948, she lived a life marked by warmth, humor, and a gift for connecting with others.
A graduate of Kiser High School, Connie went on to become a longtime employee of Bob Evans, where she worked faithfully until her retirement. She was known for her lively spirit and the easy way she made people feel welcome. Connie was funny and always telling jokes, and her sense of humor brought lightness to those around her. She was very social and never met a stranger, and her natural friendliness made lasting impressions wherever she went. She was also a good storyteller, sharing memories and moments in a way that drew others in and made them smile.
Connie found joy in simple and creative pleasures. She enjoyed art projects and crossword books, and she especially valued writing letters and keeping up correspondence. These interests reflected her thoughtful nature and her desire to stay connected with the people in her life.
She is survived by her sister and brother, Carla (Ron) Westfall and James E. Elsea; by her daughters, Barbara (Paul) McVey and September Dawn Owens; and by her grandchildren, Matthew (Megan) Totton, Mark (Samantha) Totton, Kimberly (Keith) Sommers, Bryan Wheeler, Owen Hutchinson, and Heaven Owens. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Aleina Neff, Nolan Neff, Lincoln Neff, Lucas Totton, and Lyra Totton, who carry forward her memory with love.
Connie was preceded in death by her father, Derward Elsea, and her mother, Thelma Elsea.
Her family extends heartfelt appreciation to Centerville Post Acute Care, especially Kim, for the care and kindness shown to Connie.
She will be remembered for her laughter, her stories, her outgoing heart, and the many conversations and letters that kept her close to those she loved. Her memory will remain a cherished part of the lives of her family and friends.
