Colleen Curran, a vibrant and cherished member of the Beavercreek community, passed away on April 19, 2026, in Beavercreek, Ohio. Born on April 9, 1964, in Dayton, Ohio, Colleen lived a life marked by passion, determination, and a radiant spirit that touched all who knew her.
A proud graduate of Chaminade Julienne High School in 1983, Colleen pursued higher education with enthusiasm and purpose, attending the University of Kentucky and Florida State University. She earned her degree in Exercise Science, laying the foundation for a meaningful career dedicated to sharing her love of fitness with others. Colleen worked as a yoga instructor and freelance exercise specialist, inspiring countless individuals to embrace health and vitality.
Her adventurous soul led her on remarkable journeys, including a memorable bike trip from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, a mission trip to China, and service in the Peace Corps. An award-winning athlete, Colleen excelled in track and field, cross country, kayaking, biking, and yoga. Her proudest accomplishments were rooted in her family and her success in sports—both sources of immense pride and joy.
Colleen’s personality was truly captivating; she had a unique ability to light up a room with her jubilant laughter, sharp wit, and spirited presence. Known for her spunk and vinegar and her strong-willed nature, she approached life with an excitement and humor that inspired those around her.
She is lovingly remembered by her parents, Charles and Mara Curran; her brother James Curran and sister-in-law Brittani Curran; and her nephew James Curran Jr. Colleen was predeceased by her sister, Rochelle Curran, whose memory she cherished deeply.
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects and celebrate Colleen's life during visitation on May 1, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 4:00 PM.
