Clarence "C.W." Tipton, age 86 of Dayton, passed away Friday, July 25, 2025. He was born January 23, 1939 in Jamestown, Tennessee the son of the late Hobert and Sybil Tipton. C.W. graduated from York Institute-Jamestown,TN. He served his country in the United States Army. C. W. worked for GM for many years. He was a person of great faith and attended both the Moraine City Baptist Church and Cowboy Church. C.W. was an avid sports fan and followed the Tennessee Volunteers and Cleveland Indians. He had a lifelong passion for music and playing music. He played with a number of different bands throughout his life providing guitar and vocals. Some of the notable local bands he played with over the years are Lost in Time, Still Water (Back in the 70's), Delbert Barker Band, and the Drifters. C.W. loved going to his adopted grandsons' events most notably Asa's Baseball games and Noah's band Concerts. He Played in the Wrinkle Review with the Franklin Senior Center. C.W. will be deeply missed.
C.W. is survived by his Partner, Fran Dunlevey; Adopted Grandsons, Asa Dunlevey, Noah Brush, and Aaron Dudas; Close Friends, Gary Payton, and Sam Webb; and by numerous other close friends and people he played music with.
He is preceded in death by his Parents and his Sister, Gladys Tipton.
