Clarence Everett Soward, age 99, of Fairborn, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026 at Hospice of Dayton at 7:14am. A Veteran of WWII, he was born on January 3, 1927 in Buckeye Lake, Ohio.
Clarence was strong in his Christian faith and active many years serving the church.
His pastimes included fishing and teaching his children and grandchildren how to water ski.
Clarence celebrated 80 years of marriage to his surviving wife, Frances Irene Soward; daughters, Sondra Knicely and Brenda (John) Tims; grandchildren, Travis (Shelley) Tims, Ryan (Chrissy) Tims and Jackie Tims; three great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; as well as his siblings, Ralph Soward and Evelyn (Sherm) Romine.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Harry Soward and Jimmy Soward.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to the Veterans Administration (Click HERE to donate).
Visitation will be held from 2:00pm-3:00pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek), with funeral services being held at 3:00pm.
Clarence will be laid to rest at Newark Memorial Gardens.
