Clarence "Bud" Siemer, Jr., age 79, of Centerville, passed away on May 22, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with COPD and cancer.
Bud was born on November 15, 1942, in Wichita, KS to Clarence & Isadel Siemer. He graduated from Chaplain Kaupan Memorial High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963.
In 1972, Bud married his loving wife, Sue. They moved from Ohio to Oklahoma for several years before settling back in Dayton, Ohio in 1988. They recently celebrated their 50th anniversary. Bud was a man of few words but would easily give the shirt off his back if you asked. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his witty sense of humor, hard-working demeanor, and his amazing knack for being able to fix just about anything. He never stopped working and providing for his family. Even in his retirement years, he continued to work as a heavy equipment operator for local excavating and construction companies. Bud could run circles around the construction workers young enough to be his grandchildren. He left his mark in Dayton by playing in the dirt- building several neighborhood ponds and excavating many of the newly built neighborhoods in the area. In his later years, he found a love for Texas, where he spent his winters with his wife in their RV. When Bud wasn't working, he could be found doing one of his favorite hobbies like fishing, gardening, hunting, and cooking.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Isadel; his sister Kathleen Kost; his brother Joe Siemer; and his grandson Collin Geoffrey Morris. He is survived by his wife Sue (Huart), his children CJ Siemer (Karin), Nanette Siemer, Gloria Siemer, and Angela Black (Donerik), his 8 grandchildren, his sisters Mary Christopher and Barbara Mohr and his brother Donald Siemer, and his beloved dog, Rudy.
A special thank you to Bud's work family, especially Keith Cunningham of Cunningham Utilities and Marty Coates of MJ Coates Construction.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd
Kettering, OH 45439, on Saturday, June 11th from 1-2pm followed by a memorial service. Contributions can be made in Bud's memory to Hospice of Dayton.
