Christopher Raymond Werner, affectionately known as Chris, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2026 at Maria Joseph Nursing Home.
Born on March 9, 1965, in Kettering, Ohio, Chris’s life was characterized by many challenges but he also was blessed with the gifts of kindness, intelligence, determination, a gentle sense of humor, and a loving, peaceful spirit. Chris pursued his love of music with dedication, earning an associate’s degree in Music from Sinclair Community College.
Throughout his life, Chris nurtured a profound appreciation for both electric and acoustic guitars, allowing his spirit and creativity to shine through every note he played. A man of many interests, Chris enjoyed exploring art, collecting gemstones, and immersing himself in Native American culture. Chris’s hobbies revealed his appreciation for the diversity and intricacy of the world around him.In addition to his artistic inclinations, Chris practiced karate, meditation and yoga.
Family was important for Chris. He is survived by his sisters, Liz Dretzka, Monica Hasek, and Jessica Werner, as well as his step-mother, Elaine Jelly-Werner.
He was predeceased by his father, Raymond Werner, and his mother, Elizabeth Phillips.
Chris will be remembered for his intellectual curiosity and his genuine warmth. His legacy lives on in the notes he played, the art he cherished, and the lives he touched with his humor and kindness. Those who knew him will continue to carry forward his spirit of love and peace.
Chris will be remembered and celebrated in a graveside private ceremony at Saint Kateri Preserve at Calvary Cemetery.
