Christopher James Vaughn, age 64, of Wilberforce, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026. He was born on September 26, 1961, in Xenia, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Charlotte Vaughn.
Christopher was preceded in death by his beloved parents.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Cora Vaughn; his son, Christian Vaughn; his daughter, Camryn (Brandon) Harold; and his treasured grandchildren, Jaden, Tristan, and Zian, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Christopher graduated from Xenia High School, Class of 1979. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Wilberforce University (1999) and completed his theological studies at Payne Theological Seminary, earning a Master of Divinity in 2013.
Christopher dedicated many years of service to the Defense Logistics Agency before retiring. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of First United Christian Church, where he grew from a young boy into a faithful servant and Minister in the Disciples of Christ. His love for God was evident in the way he lived—through service, compassion, and a genuine desire to uplift others.
He found his greatest happiness in the simple, meaningful moments of life—cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events, teaching and sharing the Word of God, enjoying a good donut, reading, and spending quality time with those he loved most, especially his beloved wife, Cora.
Christopher will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the way he made everyone feel seen and encouraged. He was giving, humorous, patient, and deeply passionate about both his faith and his family. To know him was to experience warmth, wisdom, and support.
He was a remarkable husband, a loving father and grandfather, a faithful minister, and a true friend. His legacy of love, faith, and encouragement will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
