Listen to Obituary

Christopher David Jacques passed away on August 22, 2026, in Vandalia, Ohio. Chris had a life filled with warmth, laughter, and boundless love for his family and those fortunate enough to call him friend. He was born on March 30, 1965, in Dayton, Ohio, and from the earliest days, his charm, kindness, and adventurous spirit were unmistakable.

Chris-known to many by his generous smile and approachable nature-built a legacy shaped by hard work, deep connections, and his ever-present sense of fun. For 15 dedicated years, Chris was part of the Dominoes Pizza family. There, his remarkable work ethic shone brightly as he trained new employees, opened new stores, and took on the roles of manager and supervisor. His leadership at work reflected his genuine care for people, always making sure that everyone around him felt included and valued.

To know Chris was to know adventure, laughter, and a soul that delighted in the simple joys. He was famously fond of roller coasters, never passing up the chance for a new thrill or excitement. Pizza and Coca-Cola were constants in his life-the fuel for many celebratory moments and shared meals. Chris approached each day with an adventurous heart, seeing possibilities where others saw routine.

His passion for life was matched only by the love he bore for his family. Chris was smart, outgoing, and radiated a warmth that drew people and animals alike to him. As much as he loved animals, it often seemed as though they loved him right back, sensing in him a kindred spirit. His innate generosity of heart meant that those who entered his circle-family, friends, and acquaintances-were welcomed like old friends.

Chris’s memory will be forever cherished by those he leaves behind: his beloved daughter, Heather Bland; granddaughters: Maura Bland and Rachel Rock; devoted mother, Sandra Jacques; partner, Nikki Rehl and her daughter, Trenidi; sister, Pamela Jacques (Kenneth Cobb); nephew, Andrew Kelley; great-nephew, Sam Kelley, and great-niece, Kiryn Kelley; cousins Greg Jacques (Geri) and David Jacques (Ella Kundu, M.D.); and his dear friends: Dave Kozik and J.P. Vanover. Chris was preceded in death by his father, Terrence Jacques.

This world was made brighter by Chris’s presence-he was someone who worked hard, embraced adventure, and never missed a moment to share love with his family or brighten someone’s day. His spirit lives on in the laughter, kindness, and stories shared by those who knew him.
