Christopher "Chris" J. McCoy

Christopher “Chris” J. McCoy, age 37, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 23, 2026. He was born on June 13, 1989, in Dayton, Ohio.

Chris was a journeyman ironworker with Ironworkers Local 290.

Christopher loved his family and friends, as well as his gaming community. He enjoyed late-night gaming sessions that could lead into twenty-four-hour binges of Call of Duty. His competitiveness shined through at all hours.

Chris had a contagious smile. When he was smiling, you knew he was happy to be with you. He was a realist who spoke his mind and told things like they were. His honesty and individuality were a big part of who he was.

Chris was a devoted sports fan. His favorite football teams were the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes. When it came to basketball, he enjoyed following whichever team LeBron James was playing for.

Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Barbara McCoy; and maternal grandfather, Harlis Combs.

Chris is survived by his parents, Jim and Judy McCoy; brothers, Brandon McCoy (Sasha Snyder) and Nick McCoy; maternal grandmother, Jeannie Combs; godparents, Patty and Jack Glaser; several aunts and uncles; and numerous other family members and friends whom he held close. To those who knew Chris, his love was never-ending, and he made sure you felt it.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
