Christin "Gaga" Albrektson

March 13, 1958 — June 22, 2025

Kettering

Christin "Gaga" Albrektson, born on March 13, 1958, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Kettering, Ohio. Christin dedicated a significant portion of her life to serving others, holding a remarkable 27-year career at the Dayton Bar Association. Throughout her tenure, she was an integral part of various National Legal Committees, showcasing her unwavering commitment to the legal profession. At the time of her passing, she enhanced her community service as the treasurer/secretary for West Hancock Fire Rescue in Pearlington, Mississippi.

An alumna of Fairmont East, Christin graduated in 1976 and continued her education at Sinclair Community College, attaining an Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies. Her professional endeavors were matched only by her personal zest for life, leading a vibrant existence that endeared her to many. Known affectionately as Gaga, she was a source of warmth and love to those fortunate enough to be part of her life. Only a select few had the privilege of knowing her as Connie (if you know, you know!).

Gaga's life was full of purpose and joy, as she played a pivotal role in heading up the Wills for Heroes Program as the Ohio coordinator. Her passions extended beyond her professional contributions; she found immense joy in spending time at Indian Lake with family and friends, often seen riding around the campgrounds in her golf cart. Gaga was a faithful member of Abiding Christ Lutheran Church in Fairborn, OH. She also attended Lutheran Church of the Pines in Waveland, MS. Additionally, she valued her faith, having attended Via de Cristo (VDC) OH #18 in December of 1990. The heart of her being resonated through her love for her grandchildren, and she expressed her creativity and care through crocheting afghans, which became cherished items for her loved ones.

Christin's legacy extends through her surviving family members: her son, Chris (Nichole) Albrektson; her grandchildren, Meghan (Josh) Johns, C.J. Albrektson, Gavin Albrektson, Brantlee Albrektson, Evie Albrektson; and her great-granddaughter, Rylee Johns. She is also survived by her sisters, Penny (Gary) Workman and Sandy Hacker; brothers-in-law, Jim Albrektson and John Albrektson; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory dear.

She was predeceased by her husband, Jeff Albrektson; her father, Jerry (Anna) Kunkle; her mother, Wyona Mae Kunkle; her brother, Donald Kunkle; and her nephew, Nicholas Albrektson. Christin Albrektson’s spirit and contributions to her community and family will be fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
