Cheryl Louise Leis, born on January 15, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on June 18, 2025, in Kettering, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. Cheryl was a vibrant and spirited woman whose presence brought light and laughter to those who knew her.
An outspoken individual with an outgoing nature, Cheryl never hesitated to share a chuckle, her goofy sense of humor a cherished trait among her family and friends. Her joy for life was evident in her many passions; whether it was spending time in the outdoors, litening to country music, or the thrill of casting a line while fishing in her younger years, every moment was a testament to her love for the outdoors and relaxation alike.
Cheryl was a devoted mother to her children, Cody Leis and Samantha Leis, and her heart swelled with pride at the sight of her grandchildren—Lucas Leis, Braxton Sosh, Douglas Crooks, Davion Leis, and Zayden Leis—who were the light of her life. The moments they shared, filled with laughter and love, will remain forever etched in their hearts.
She is also survived by her beloved siblings, Myra (Gene) Schroeder, Russell (Jackie) Leis, and Tracy (Donna) Leis, who will surely carry her spirit within them. Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Leis and Wilma Glander, who nurtured and inspired her beautiful life.
Cheryl Louise Leis leaves behind a legacy woven from treasured memories and an unwavering love for her family. As we remember her, may we find comfort in the countless moments of happiness she gifted us and the enduring bonds she created. Her vibrant spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she loved dearly.

"I’m Free....
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free.
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day.
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
I found that peace at close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
ah yes these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow.
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life has been full, I’ve savored much.
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me.
God wanted me now; He set me free."
