Cheryl Leigh Harris, a vibrant soul who never met a stranger, passed away on November 29, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on August 17, 1962, Cheryl was a true beacon of energy and joy. She loved to dance and embrace adventure, always seeking out the next thrill that life had to offer. Her lively spirit and infectious smile drew people to her, making friends wherever she went.

Family was everything to Cheryl, and she enjoyed every moment spent with them. She is survived by her son, Zavinie (Lindsey) Brooks, her grandkids, James and Nolaya Brooks, her two sisters, Carla Ojezua, Karen (Jerry) Lane, and Chanda Williams, her brother, Shawn Brooks; her paternal aunt, Helen Dunivant, along with great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews who all held a special place in her heart.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, James Anthony Brooks, mother, Georgia Mae Nowlin, step-father, William L. Nowlin, brother, James Carol Brooks, brother-in-law, Victor E. Ojezua, maternal aunt, Joselane and her husband Lincoln Berry, maternal uncles David Roy, Jonathan Roy, and James Roy, paternal aunt Dorothy Ann Newkirk and Katheryn Roy, and paternal uncle Elbert Dunivant.

While her health did slow her down in the last couple of years, Cheryl never lost that spark that defined her. She lived life to the fullest, always on the go, eager for the next adventure, and ready to make new memories with her beloved friends and family. Cheryl Leigh Harris leaves behind not just a story of a life well-lived but a celebration of love, laughter, and everything that makes life beautiful. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
