Charlotte Watkins Moore, a vivacious soul whose presence could light up any room, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, in New Carlisle, Ohio. Born on November 14, 1967, in Covington, Kentucky, Charlotte lived a life that was as adventurous and no-nonsense as she was loving and caring. She was a beacon of strength and warmth, known for her hilarious wit and straightforward nature-a woman who never backed down from speaking her truth, yet always wrapped her fierce love around those she cared for.
Charlotte’s work life was marked by her dedication and skill at the Oak Tree in Minster, Ohio, where she worked as both a cook and bartender. There, her charisma and genuine spirit made her a beloved figure among patrons and colleagues alike. She brought more than just meals and drinks; she brought laughter and comfort, making every visit memorable.
In her personal life, Charlotte embraced the simple joys and the deep connections that made her heart beat brighter. Her passions were many-she loved watching crime shows, enjoying movie nights that brought her closer to family, and dancing with a freedom that reflected her spirited soul. Music was a vital thread in her tapestry, especially the moments she cherished listening to her husband play guitar. Outdoors, she found peace by the fire and thrills in playing cards. The pontoon boat rides were special adventures, yet none compared to the treasure she found in time spent with her family.
Charlotte’s family was the core of her existence. She is survived by her children: Christina Whittle, Natasha McTeer, Randall Menefee (fiancé Michelle Lawson), and Amanda Bowers. Their lives are further enriched by her grandchildren: Nathan Brinegar, Jasmine White (Nathan Rothwell), Cheyanne McTeer (Timmy P-Allen), Rebekah Gerwels, Faith Watkins (Cody Gale), Hailey McTeer (Mason Childers), Conner White, Kayleigh Menefee, Brooke Bowers, and Lacey McTeer. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Azaela Childers, Easton Rothwell, and Tinsley P-Allen. Charlotte also leaves behind her siblings Darrell Watkins (Debbie), Teresa Hamm (Chris), Eric Watkins, and Marsha Watkins; her mother-in-law, Opal Giddens, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who were fortunate to share in her journey.
She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, Fannie and Roy Watkins; her beloved husband, Otis Lee Moore; her brother, Craymon Michael Watkins; and her father-in-law, Jeff Giddens, whose memories she held close to her heart.
The family will gather to celebrate Charlotte’s remarkable life at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, located at 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.
