Charles A. Riedinger, "Charlie," a beloved member of the community and dedicated family man, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Miami Township, Ohio, at the age of 87. Born on March 26, 1938, Charles lived a life marked by kindness, talent, and a deep commitment to service.

A proud graduate of the University of Dayton, where he earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts, Charles enjoyed a successful career as the Chief Graphic Artist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. His professional talents exemplified his creative spirit, but it was his generous heart that truly endeared him to those around him.

Charles was renowned for his volunteer work, which included riding his bike to Kettering Health Washington Township, formerly Southview Hospital, to lend a helping hand. In recognition of his dedication, a bike rack was established in his name, serving as a lasting tribute to his spirit of giving. He also significantly contributed to St. Henry Catholic Church, where he cherished his role as an usher, always eager to help in any capacity.

In loving memory, he is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Gemma Riedinger; their children, Paul Riedinger (Mireille Wood), Ann (Chris) Kelley, and Mary (Todd) Rowland; and grandchildren, Mary Kathryn (Ty) Nemish, Mike Kelley, and Will Kelley. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Kathryn Riedinger, and his sister, Betty (Bob) Schrand.

His passions included being outdoors, camping, and working in his yard while enjoying simple pleasures, such as riding his tractor and smoking a pipe. Charles lived a life that mixed his love for nature with his desire to help others, and he will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10 am to 11 am at St. Henry Catholic Church (6696 N. Springboro Pike, Dayton, OH 45449). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 am.
