Franklin, Ohio

Charles Rex Wolfe, born on January 21, 1934, in Harlan, Kentucky, peacefully departed this life on June 23, 2025. A devoted family man, accomplished professional, and steadfast believer, Charles's impact was felt by many throughout his 91 years.

Charles graduated from Black Star High School in the Class of 1954, where he shone as a basketball star, demonstrating an early affinity for teamwork and dedication. Following his education, he embarked on a commendable 35-year career at Dayton Superior, ultimately achieving the position of plant manager. His industrious nature and commitment to excellence were hallmarks of his professional life. Notably, Charles held two patents related to robotic style snap tie machines, a testament to his innovative spirit.

A man known for his unwavering work ethic, Charles exemplified qualities of a loving and kind father and husband. He was deeply devoted to his family, consistently balancing the demands of a challenging career with his role as a nurturing patriarch. In his later years, he found profound joy in his faith, having accepted the Lord and Jesus Christ, which further deepened his connection to family and community.

Charles enjoyed a variety of hobbies that reflected his love for the outdoors. He found great pleasure in hunting and fishing and cherished the moments spent with family in nature. His involvement in Tuesday morning prayer meetings illustrated his commitment to his faith and community, as he sought to uplift and support those around him.

He is survived by his beloved children, Charlene (Fred Lenz) Evans, Michael (Peggy) Wolfe, and Cindy (Jeff) Crider. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his grandchildren: Amanda (Joseph) Montag, John Evans, Brittany Wolfe, Kristin Wolfe, Alex Scanlon, Zachary Baker, Cassie (Ryan) Alvey, and Jennifer (Roy) Schweitzer, as well as 25 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward the values he instilled in them. Charles remained close to his loving brother and sister-in-laws and was surrounded by numerous other family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and generosity.

He now joins his late wife Bertha, his daughter Judy Carol Wolfe, his infant sister Betty Deloris Wolfe, and his brother Johnie Ralph Wolfe, along with his parents Rex and Minerva Wolfe. Charles R. Wolfe’s legacy of hard work, love, and faith will continue to resonate within the hearts of all who knew him.

As we reflect on the life of Charles R. Wolfe, we remember a man whose strength, love, and commitment to family and faith will forever inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
