Charles W. Pollard

Charles William Pollard, age 83 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on July 4, 2025. He was born September 15, 1941, to Brazil Northington and Raymond Pollard in Bexar, Alabama. Charles is preceded in death by his parents Raymond Pollard, Odell Mitchell Sr. (step – father), Brazil Mitchell, wife Carole Pollard, son Antonne Pollard, brothers Robert and Ernest Mitchell, grandson Dontai M. Goddard Jr. He is survived by his children Karen Trigg, Gary Frisby, and granddaughter Alexandria Pollard. Two nephews that became his caretakers, Shawn (Snoop) Coleman (Stacey) and Eric Coleman (Tajuana).

Charles attended Ada Hanna School and graduated in 1959. He then moved to Brooklyn, Illinois to live with his mother Brazil and step – Father Odell Mitchell Sr. along with his five siblings Robert Mitchell, Ernest Mitchell, Janice Dixon, Odell Mitchell Jr., and Cynthia Jackson. In 1960 he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he lived until his sunset. In 1970, he married Carole Hamilton, raised his son Antonne Pollard, Karen Trigg, and Gary Frisby. He is survived by his 2 lovely sisters Janice Dixon of Buford, Georgia, Cynthia Jackson of Champaigne, Illinois, brother Odell Mitchell Jr. of O’Fallon, Illinois, and a plethora of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great – great grandchildren, cousins, a special cousin Jerry Spears other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 3-4pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424. The service will follow at 4pm.
