Charles M. Meadows, born December 12, 1936, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026. A man whose life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a vibrant spirit, Charles leaves behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.
Charles began his respected career as a machinist, working diligently at Heidelberg and NCR, where his skill and work ethic earned him the admiration of colleagues. His commitment to serving his country was demonstrated through his time in the United States Air Force, a period in which he exemplified honor and patriotism.
Known for his strong will and generous nature, Charles was a devoted family man who treasured every moment with those he loved. His affectionate spirit was brightened by a delightful sense of humor; he had a fondness for making people laugh and was known for his playful pranks that brought joy to family and friends alike.
A passionate sports enthusiast, Charles held a deep love for baseball and football. His heart beat especially for the Cincinnati Reds, and he was an ardent supporter of Ohio State and West Virginia, as well as every University of Dayton team. These loyalties were a testament to his spirited personality and his enduring enthusiasm for the game.
Charles is survived by his loving children: Michael Fox and his wife Joann; Lisa Meeder and her husband Dan; and Patty Smith and her husband Matt. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren: Shannon and her husband Elliott, Kelli, Cody, Elijah, Benjamin, Giovanni, and Michael. The family circle extends to a beloved great-grandson, Elian, his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Fatima, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who all hold him in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary H. Meadows, who shared many years of happiness with him. Charles was also predeceased by his parents, Edgar and Virginia Meadows, and his siblings: Jimmy Meadows, Betty Covey Barrett, Willis Meadows, Wilford Meadows, Peggy Heiser, Dennis Meadows, Rosemary Deaton, Steve Meadows, Junior Meadows, and Billy Joe Meadows.
Charles M. Meadows lived a life of purpose, laughter, and unwavering love. His memory will forever inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him. In his passing, we honor a man who was much more than a machinist or a sports fan—he was a true family pillar, a loyal friend, and a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, leaving an indelible mark on all he touched.
