Charles R. Hoschouer peacefully passed away on December 26, 2020 at the age of 82 at Miami Valley Hospital with his beloved wife, Sarah at his side. Charles (Chuck) was born on November 27, 1938 in Darke County Ohio to John and Mildred (Sheffler) Hoschouer and is survived by his wife Sarah L. (Smith) Hoschouer, his sister Norma Carter, his children Terri Brady (Tom), Craig Hoschouer, and Jason VanHoose (Rachel). He has six grandchildren, Christina Leveille (Ryan) & Kayla Brady, Alec & Avery Hoschouer, and Henry & Virginia VanHoose. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Roland (Ron) Hoschouer.
Chuck graduated from Patterson Co-op in 1957. While co-oping in high school he worked in the mail room for Peoples Bank, which ultimately became National City Bank. Chuck attended night school for 16 consecutive years to earn a bachelor's degree in business administration from Wright State University and an MBA from the University of Dayton, all while working full time and raising a family. Chuck retired as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of National City Bank after 37 years of service. His kindness to others, dedication to the bank and those he worked with, along with his work ethic, were his trademarks.
Chuck volunteered his time coaching youth sports and was on many non-profit boards over the years. The two boards in which he devoted many years of service were the Wright State Foundation Board and the Dayton Art Institute Board. Chuck loved most sports but especially loved playing golf. He was a lover of all animals and an avid woodworker.
