Born on July 10, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, Charles led a life distinguished by both personal achievements and cherished relationships.
A proud veteran, Charles served in the United States Air Force from 1978 until his retirement in 1992, earning the esteemed Air Force Commendation Medal for his dedicated service to our country. His military career was one of his proudest accomplishments, alongside his deep commitment to his family.
Charles graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1978, a milestone that marked the beginning of a journey filled with varied interests. He worked as an Office Administrator for a health care company in New Mexico, where he utilized his unique talents and skills. In his personal life, Charles found joy in simple pleasures: playing Yahtzee "for blood" with his brother Michael, cheering on his favorite sports teams—the Cincinnati Bengals, The Ohio State Buckeyes, the Chicago Cubs, and the Dayton Flyers—and indulging in his love for 80’s music. He was also an enthusiastic visitor to the casino, delighting in playing scratch-off tickets. Known for his culinary skills, Charles was a great cook, often sharing meals with those he loved.
He is survived by his siblings Therese Cole, Michael Draves Sr., and Catherine Draves, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. His furry companion, Whooee, will also carry on the memory of the joy Charles brought into the lives of those around him.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, John and Roberta Draves, who undoubtedly influenced his character and spirit.
