Charlene Brown Faris (May 12, 1941-September 14, 2018)
Charlene "Charlie" Brown Faris of Kettering, Ohio passed away on September 14, 2018, after a long battle with cancer. Charlie was born in the Appalachian Mountains outside of Livingston, Tennessee, a place she loved and returned to throughout the years.
Charlie was an avid horseback rider and friend to all animals. Her smile and welcoming nature are fondly remembered by countless people through her work preparing meals for students, first at St. Albert the Great School, and later at the University of Dayton's Virginia Kettering Hall. She most loved her large extended family, who know her as genuine, selfless and kind.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Brown, and her mother, Edna Copeland Brown, also of Tennessee, by her husband James Michael Faris of Dayton, Ohio, and her numerous beloved siblings-in-law. She is survived by her twin children, Angela (Lynn) Faris Belt and James Christian Faris, and grandson, J.T. Faris.
A special memorial will be held on Wednesday, September 19. Family, all who remember Charlie, and friends of Angela and Jim are invited to visit and share stories celebrating her life from 1-2PM at Calvary Cemetery's Chapel in Dayton, and join in services at 2:00PM.
