Charleen Marie Glasser

Charleen Marie (Johnson) Glasser passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, with her sweetheart by her side. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Robert I. Glasser.

Charleen was born on February 21, 1950, in Hartford, CT, to Carl R. and Catherine R. (Stanish) Johnson.

Charleen graduated from East Hartford High School in 1968. She worked as a file cleric for a CT insurance company until she married Robert I. Glasser. She worked part-time jobs while nurturing, loving and caring for her three children, Scott, Dawn and Vicky. Robert and Charleen raised their children in SC and CT where Robert was stationed and served in the US Navy.

The family began attending a Pentecostal church in the early 1980's and Charleen made a commitment to serve her saviour Jesus Christ in 1984. After 1991, Robert retired and they traveled and moved to multiple states then settled in Ohio in 2010, where she spent her remaining years.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert, of 52 years; her children, Scott Glasser of Dover, DE, Dawn (Jacob) Sanders of Seymour, IN and Vicky (Stephen) Howe of Zanesville, OH; as well as 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Also her siblings, Richard (Judith) Johnson of Conway, SC, Phyllis (Leo) LaMere of Dawsonville, GA, Kenneth (Karen) Johnson of South Windsor, CT, Carl (Donna) Johnson of Mesquite, NV, and Bruce (Nina) Johnson of Athens, AL. Charleen was preceded by her parents, Carl and Catherine Johnson.

Special thanks to Alpine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and the Day City Hospice for the care they provided to Charleen and her family during her final months.

Family and friends are welcome to join us for her Celebration of Life on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, where her Memorial Services will begin at 3:00pm, with Pastor Ken Dillingham officiating.
