Chad Michael Hannahs, born on June 12, 1970, in Columbus, Ohio, was a man whose name resonated with pride and craftsmanship throughout his community. Known affectionately as the "Ceiling God," Chad's hands transformed drywall and ceilings into canvases of dedication and skill, leaving an indelible mark on every project he embraced. His work was more than a job; it was a testament to his unwavering commitment and artistry.

On April 5, 2026, Chad passed away peacefully in Dayton, Ohio, after a courageous and long battle with cancer. His departure leaves a poignant silence where once there was laughter, warmth, and the vibrant presence of a man who was always there for those he loved. Chad’s spirit was woven into the fabric of every moment shared, every cheer raised, and every memory made.

A die-hard Ohio State University Buckeyes fan, Chad carried his team’s colors in his heart with the same passion that fueled his support for the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Indians. Game days were occasions filled with camaraderie and spirited enthusiasm, where his cheers echoed alongside family and friends, binding them in joy and shared hope.

Chad's personality was a radiant light—steadfast and joyous. He relished good times, the company of loved ones, and the simple pleasures that made life rich and full. His laughter was infectious, his kindness palpable, and his presence a comfort like no other.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Darla Brown; sister, Andrea Hannahs; and brother, Kevin Hannahs. His legacy lives on through his devoted partner of over 30 years, Cassy Stacy, whose love and strength were a constant throughout their journey together. Chad also leaves behind step-children Nikki Looney and Christopher Stacy, his six cherished nephews—Chad Jr., Jacob, Gage, Michael, Ryan, and Bryan—and his beloved niece, Adora and Madison. His granddaughters Courtney and Harper carry forward the light of his spirit, a beautiful testament to the man he was.

Chad’s father, Sherman Brown, preceded him in death, leaving memories held tenderly by the family he so dearly loved.

In the quiet moments, when the ceiling catches the glint of sunlight just so, it is Chad’s touch you feel—a gentle reminder of a man who built more than walls and ceilings; he built lives enriched with love, loyalty, and laughter.

He will be deeply missed but forever celebrated in the hearts of all who knew him.
