Carolyn Ann Strunk, lovingly known as Carol, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by her cherished loved ones. Born on September 1, 1946, in Dayton, Carol lived a life deeply rooted in her hometown and enriched by close-knit family, enduring friendships, and a spirit of kindness that touched countless lives.

Carol was a proud graduate of Stivers High School, class of 1964, an achievement that marked the beginning of a purposeful and dedicated journey. She went on to build a remarkable career with General Motors, a testament to her strong work ethic, determination, and loyalty. After 30 years of devoted service, Carol retired, before embracing a new chapter at Dorothy Lane Market, where she filled her days and the hearts of those she encountered.

Her greatest joy came from her family, and she held immense pride in each member, especially her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol's home was always filled with the laughter and warmth that only a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother could provide. She found true happiness in cooking and sewing, generously gifting her creations to those she loved, and was always eager to spend time babysitting her grandchildren, making every moment special for them. Time spent with family and friends was sacred to Carol, and those occasions became lifelong memories for all involved.

Carol’s personality was a beacon for those around her. She was known for her gentle humor, unwavering kindness, loving heart, and boundless generosity. These qualities defined her relationships and left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children David (Trisha) Strunk and Becky (Rick Stahl) Strunk; grandchildren Christopher (Ashley) Strunk, Stephen (Madison) Strunk, Emma (Zack) Bankston, Chole Strunk, Branson Bobbit, and Luke (Brittany) Hartsock; and great grandchildren dear to her heart, including Hollie Strunk, Jaxon Strunk, Gideon Strunk, and Eiljah Strunk. Her legacy extends to her siblings Linda Entler and Kathy (Dan Schaaf) Mills, and her nephews Evan Mills and Tony Smith as well as good friend Pat Evans.

Carol now joins her husband Lonnie Strunk; her parents Jessie and Irene Dillon; and her aunts and uncles Oren "Clyde" Dillon and Maude Dillon, and dear friends Barb & Floyd Ott who preceded her in passing.
