Listen to Obituary

Carolyn Sue Overbey (Campbell) entered the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the promises of God she had trusted throughout her life.

Sue was born on September 26, 1947, to Lake and Evelyn Campbell. She was raised alongside her sister, Sondra, and her brother, John Campbell. In August of 1965, she married the love of her life, Tony Overbey, beginning a marriage that would span 60 years and serve as a testimony to faithfulness, commitment, and love.

Sue was the devoted mother of Sara (Scott) and Stuart, and the proud grandmother of Macy (Jeffrey), Gunnar, and a host of others who loved her and called her Gammi. She was also blessed to become great-grandmother to Samuel, Max, and Levi. She was a beloved aunt and cousin to many. Her family was one of her greatest joys, and she loved them fiercely and faithfully.

Above all else, Sue loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was not merely something she professed; it was the foundation upon which she built her life. Even in difficult seasons, Sue carried a quiet strength and a gift for joy. She faithfully served Christ through her church, her family, and her love for others. She had a heart for missions and was especially passionate about sharing the gospel, supporting ministry efforts in places such as Mongolia and Uganda.

Sue will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, her contagious sense of humor, her silly funny faces, and the warmth she brought into every room. She was never too proud to coax a laugh out of someone who needed it, and that playfulness was as much a part of her as her grace. She possessed a unique ability to make people feel loved and welcomed.

Whether gathered around her table, sharing stories, or simply enjoying her company, family and friends knew they were treasured.

While her family grieves her absence, they rejoice in the certainty that Sue is now whole, healed, and in the presence of the Savior she loved so deeply. Her life pointed others to Christ, and her greatest desire was that those she loved would know Him as well.

Sue leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, service, and devotion that will continue to influence generations to come.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." - Matthew 25:23
