Listen to Obituary

Carolyn Gwen Milleson, born on June 8, 1963, grew up in the Sandusky, Ohio area, and has since been a longtime resident of the Dayton, Ohio area. She passed away at the age of 63 following a courageous battle with frontotemporal dementia. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and a strong devotion to her family and faith.

If you knew Carrie, you know she never met a stranger. She was always the first to lend a helping hand, had a welcoming heart, and an incredible work ethic. For 30 years, she was a familiar face at Lowe’s, where her dedication and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with and served.

Carrie was an accomplished seamstress, avid crafter, and enjoyed cooking for the people she loved. Her faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her life, and she was deeply involved in her church. One of her greatest joys came from spending time with her family, especially her five grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father Loren Dean Rockwell (who went by Dean), stepfather Joseph Friend, and her brothers John Rockwell and Vaughn Friend. Carrie leaves behind her devoted husband Keith Milleson; her mother Patricia Hoover; and her children Michael Milleson; Amanda (Antony) Mascotti, and their children Preston, Alaina, Parker, and Wesley; and Rachel (Zachary) Hedges, and their daughter Zoe. She is also survived by her loving siblings Jill (Daniel) Howton, Daniel (Patricia) Rockwell, Kathryn (Eugene “Chip”) Newcomer, Lloyd “Butch” (Amy) Rockwell, and Vern (Brenda) Rockwell; and many dear extended family members and friends.

Carrie’s kindness, selflessness, and the love she poured into everything she did will be deeply missed and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A funeral service to celebrate Carrie’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26th at 12:00 PM at Clearcreek Chapel, with visitation taking place prior from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Clearcreek Chapel.
