Carolyn "Kelly" P. Clark

Carolyn Patricia Clark, affectionately known as Kelly, was a vibrant soul whose light shone brightly from her birth on April 2, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, until her passing on September 18, 2025. She was not just a person; she was a phenomenon—a big personality and original A1 Diva whose kindness and love touched the lives of many. Her outspoken and outgoing nature made her not just a friend but a confidante and a beacon of positivity.

Kelly’s warmth drew people to her, and anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her can attest to her straightforwardness, which was both refreshing and admirable. She had a passion for cooking and could often be found preparing delightful meals, each seasoned with her unique touch of love. Decorating her home brought her joy, transforming spaces into welcoming havens filled with comfort and style. Kelly cherished the moments spent hanging out with friends, where laughter and stories flowed abundantly.

Her proudest accomplishments were undoubtedly her beloved children: George Clark Jr., Raphael (Dylan) Rueth, and Terry Myles Jr. Kelly poured her heart into her role as a grandmother, finding endless joy in spending time with her grandchildren—Princess Rueth, Dylan Rueth Jr., Empress Rueth, Cairo Rueth, Terry Myles III, Emryn Abbott, Kier Jenkins, Patricia Clark, Patrice Clark, Aaron Clark, Jashaun Clark, Dre-Ryan Clark, Cintre Clark, Jarin Clark, James Clark, Jordan Clark, and Kendall Clark. Each grandchild brought a new light into her life, and they always knew their Grandma Kelly was in their corner, cheering them on with unwavering support. In addition to her grandchildren, she was also blessed with a host of great-grandchildren, each one a cherished sprout of her legacy.

Kelly had an unbreakable bond with her siblings, Jeffrey Battles Sr. and David Battles Jr., and she valued her friendships deeply, especially with her best friend Rhonda Wells. Together, they shared countless memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who've witnessed their camaraderie.

Kelly's roots ran deep, and while she delighted in her life among many, she was also shaped by those who came before her. She is reunited in peace with her beloved parents, David and Lottie Battles, her daughter Carol Clark, her goddaughter Mercedes Chantell Preston, and her siblings Shirley Knight, Genevieve Dorsey, and Anthony Battles Sr. They loved her dearly and will forever hold a part of her spirit within them.
