Carole Jean Benke

Carole Jean Benke, age 80 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026. She was born April 5, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of Edwin and Theda Lawson.

Carole was a devoted mother of two, a grandmother and great grandmother. She loved reading, sparkles and glitter.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Harold Elmer Benke, Jr.; Father, Edwin Lawson; Mother, Theda Lawson and siblings, Ron Lawson and Kathy McFeely.

Carole is survived by her two Daughters, Shellie (Ryan) Strahler and Sherie (Mark) Kneubuehl; grandchildren, Juston (Shelby) Theile, Katie Marksberry, William Garrett Marksberry, Jaide Theile and Jenna Marksberry; 8 great grandchildren and brother, Dennis (Kathy) Lawson.

Funeral Service will be held at Friday, January 23, 2026 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432). Carole will be laid to rest with the love of her life, Harold, at Valley View Memorial Gardens following the service.
