Carol J. Turner (Lynch)

Carol J. Turner (Lynch), born September 3, 1958, passed away on September 17, 2026.

Carol will be remembered for a life shaped by devotion to education, deep love for family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She earned her Master’s in Education and went on to serve as a teacher in Lithonia Public Schools, Columbus Public Schools and Dayton Public Schools for almost 30 years. She had a passion for teaching and educating, and she loved telling stories about the children she taught. Through her years in the classroom, she gave her time, care, and knowledge to generations of students, leaving a lasting impression through her commitment as an educator.

Outside of her professional life, Carol found joy in crafting and especially loved shopping. Above all, she treasured her family. Her nieces and nephews held a particularly special place in her heart, and she loved them as her own children. That love was a defining part of her life and one of the many ways she shared her generous spirit with those around her.

Carol is survived by her sister, Cassie Marshall (George); her brothers, Earl Stanley Lynch and Kerry Lynch; her nieces, Keelynn and Brandi; her nephews, Sedrick, Taj, Louis, and Larry Jr.; special friends, Yolanda Dixon and Deborah Million; and many cousins and dear friends. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Lynch and Willie Mae Lynch (Allen); and her grandparents, Walter and Paola Allen. She will be remembered with love by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and those whose lives she touched.
