Carol J. Turner (Lynch), born September 3, 1958, passed away on September 17, 2026.
Carol, lovely known as “Karen” by family and close friends will be remembered for a life shaped by devotion to education, deep love for family, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. Her early education included attending Whittier Elementary School and Dunbar High School. She also graduated from Kentucky State University and Antioch College, earning a Master’s degree in Education which allowed her to go on to serve as a teacher in Lithonia Public Schools, Columbus Public Schools and Dayton Public Schools for almost 30 years. She had a passion for teaching and educating children, and she loved the learning experiences that developed each child she taught. Through her years in the classroom, she gave her time, care, and knowledge to generations of students, leaving a lasting impression through her commitment as an educator.
Outside of her professional life, Carol was a proud sorority member of Delta Sigma Theta, Incorporated and found joy in other interests; involving crafting and she especially had a love for shopping. Above all, she treasured her family. Her nieces and nephews held a particularly special place in her heart, and she loved them as her own children. That love was a defining part of her life and one of the many ways she shared her generous spirit with those around her.
Carol is survived by her sister, Cassie (George)Marshall; her brothers, Earl Stanley Lynch and Kerry Lynch; her nieces, Keelynn Lynch and Brandi (Ronald Jr.) Love; her nephews, Sedrick (Kendra) Williams, Taj Williams, Louis Williams, and Larry Lynch Jr.; special friends Deborah Million and Yolanda Dixon; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and dear friends in Dayton, Ohio and Georgia. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry Lynch Sr. and Willie Mae Lynch (Allen); her grandparents, Walter and Paola Allen; brothers, Larry Lynch Sr. and John Henry Lynch Jr..
She will be remembered with love by all who knew her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and those whose lives she touched.
