Carol Ann Bucher

Carol Ann Bucher, age 79, of Centerville, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 27, 1947, in Kansas City, MO, to the late Allan and MaryEllen Elliott, Carol lived a life full of love and kindness.

A graduate of Centerville High School, Class of 1965, Carol pursued her passion for education at Bowling Green, majoring in Home Economics, and went on to earn a Master's Degree in Child Development from the University of Cincinnati. Her transformative summer working with at-risk youth in Watts, California, deeply influenced her compassionate approach to life.

Carol began her career teaching Home Economics at Watts Middle School, where she met her beloved husband, Thomas. Together, they built a warm and loving home for their three children, Brian, Elizabeth, and Mike. While raising her family, Carol dedicated herself to volunteering with TWIGS, organizing events to support Dayton Children's Hospital and forging lifelong friendships.

Her affection for children was immeasurable; she adored spending time with her children and grandchildren, nurturing them, and sharing her love of learning. Carol cherished travel, the ocean, reading, cooking, and enjoying shrimp cocktail and wine coolers. She was a gifted seamstress, an artist with an interest in cross stitch, and she loved laughing with friends. She always felt loved by the gift of a single red rose from Tom and his beautiful paintings.

Carol will be remembered for her warm and friendly personality. She radiated joy with her grandchildren and found happiness in giving to others. She delighted in musicals and was deeply interested in her family's endeavors, weaving stories that wandered, but somehow eventually returned to their beginnings.

Carol leaves behind her treasured husband of 55 years, Thomas; her children, Brian (Jen) Bucher, Elizabeth (Mike) Stoker, and Mike Bucher (Angela Schreffler); and her cherished grandchildren, Austin, Emma, Alex, and Eric Bucher, and Elliott and Evalyn Stoker. She is also survived by her sisters, Susan (Alan) Garten and Jane (Marc) Althen.
