Carmen Eileen Dooley, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on May 24, 1944, Carmen lived a life that was full of hard work and love, retiring at the age of 80 from her job at Meijer in Englewood.
An independent spirit, Carmen embodied a strong work ethic and took pride in everything she did. Her devotion to her family was paramount, as she cherished her children, Steven (Kim) Best and Debra Best, and adored her grandchildren—Brittany Best, Amanda Dean, Brandi Hall, and Ashley Hall. She embraced the joys that came with spending time with her great-grandchildren: Lexy DeHaven, Luna DeHaven, Joseph DeHaven, Dylan Huff, and Emery Hall.
She is also survived by her loving sister Patty (Don) Weir, along with her nephew David Williamson and great-niece Rylee Williamson. Carmen now joins her late husband of 26 years, John E. Dooley, as well as her parents, Charles and Carmen Williamson.
Carmen had a special place in her heart for animals, particularly cats and dogs, and her home was undoubtedly filled with the warmth they brought her. She also enjoyed going shopping-a pastime she shared with her daughter.
Carmen Eileen Dooley will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love and hard work will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.
Carmen will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery with her husband, John.
