Listen to Obituary

Carl H. Bachman, born on June 12, 1940, in Dayton, Ohio, departed this world peacefully on October 2, 2025, in Fairborn, Ohio. He leaves behind a legacy etched in the hearts of his family and friends, one that speaks volumes of love, dedication, and warmth.

Carl's career as a custodian at Standard Register spanned two fulfilling decades, where he became known not only for his efficiency and work ethic but also for his friendly demeanor and engaging conversations. A natural talker, Carl was both a storyteller and a family historian, who cherished sharing the anecdotes of his life with those around him. He was a proud alumnus of the Montgomery County Career Center, where he laid the foundation for his future work.

His early memories were filled with delight, like the times he would merrily stir up the horse that pulled the milk delivery cart to his grandmother's house as a child. This whimsical spirit carried into his adult life, where he found joy in the simple pleasures, especially in his beloved garden, where tomatoes were his specialty. Every plant he tended spoke to a nurturing soul who fiercely loved his home and the comfort it provided.

Carl took immense pride in his family; his proudest accomplishments revolved around the joy and growth of his son, John (Laine) Bachman, and his granddaughter, Emilee "Kory" Bachman. These cherished relationships brought him immeasurable happiness and allowed him to weave generations together through stories and shared experiences.

A devout Catholic, Carl's faith was a guiding light in his life. He found serenity in the garden, where he spent countless hours nurturing his plants and creating a sanctuary for nature. He also had a special fondness for feeding the birds, always ensuring he had bread scattered in the yard for their enjoyment. He found pleasure in the companionship of his dogs, Fluffy, Jack, and Stacy, whose loyalty mirrored his own affectionate nature.

Carl is survived by his loving son, John (Laine) Bachman; his cherished granddaughter, Emilee "Kory" Bachman; and his beloved siblings, Nancy (Bill) Weston, Carol (Jim) Uphaus, Tim (Sandy) Bachman, Tom Bachman, and Jeffrey (Natalie) Bachman. His family will carry forth the values he instilled and the stories he so lovingly shared.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora Bachman, and by his siblings, Richard Allen Bachman and Theresa Bachman. While they have left this earthly realm, their memory and laughter will resonate in every corner of Carl’s heart and the hearts of those who loved him dearly.

Carl H. Bachman's journey through life has gifted us with unforgettable memories and a profound love that will endure forever. As we remember him, let us cherish the laughter, the stories, and the love that he freely gave, inspiring each of us to live fully and embrace family, faith, and the beauty found in our gardens.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Carl on a future date.  Please check back for details.
