Carl Randy Abshire, born on July 29, 1942, in Buchanan County, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, in Centerville, Ohio. He was a distinguished sheet metal worker, proudly owning and operating his own business, Phoenix Metal Works, which he has successfully passed on to his son, Chris.
Carl is remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his generous and kind nature. He possessed a unique spirit that touched the lives of many around him. As a devoted husband to Michele Abshire and a loving father to his children—Chris (Maureen) Abshire, Steve (Ashlee) Abshire, Jeff Abshire, and Douglas Freemon—Carl took immense pride in his family. His grandchildren, Cameron (Sophie), Riley, Reid, Bree, Bryant, and Ronnie, were a source of great joy for him and represented some of his proudest accomplishments.
Beyond his career and family, Carl had diverse interests that brought him immense happiness. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed riding motorcycles, and had a passion for cars, often indulging in the excitement of acquiring a new vehicle monthly. As a dedicated Shriner, he contributed to his community and embraced the spirit of fellowship that defined his life.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Clara Abshire, who, along with his many friends and loved ones, will be sorely missed. The legacy he leaves behind in both his family and professional endeavors will forever be cherished and celebrated by those who knew and loved him.
