Calvin Coolage Black, age 100, of Fairborn, passed away December 17, 2025. Calvin was born in Kingston, Ohio on March 13, 1925 to the late John and Ada Black.
Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice Black; son, Dan Black; as well as his grandson, Jeremy.
He is survived by sons, Calvin D. "Doug" Black and Jeffrey (Sheila) Black; grandchildren, Erin, Casey (Bri) and Chris (Natasha); as well as his great-grandchildren, Jessica, Jordan, Jenna, Harper, Gabby and Keran.
Calvin was a WWII Army Veteran. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Calvin loved to play euchre and listen to music, a self-taught ukelele, banjo and harmonica player.
Calvin's faith was important to him and he was a born-again Christian.
Calvin was a kind and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am-10:00am on Thursday, January 8, 2025 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek). Calvin will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery in Fairborn following the service.
