Bruce E. Morrison

Bruce Edward Morrison, age 68, of Dayton, Ohio, transitioned peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Soin Medical Center.

He was born on September 26, 1956, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Nathaniel Thomas Morrison and Pearl Morrison. Bruce was raised in a loving and faith-filled home. At an early age, he began his spiritual journey at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, which laid the foundation for his lifelong faith.

Bruce graduated from Roth High School in 1975 and pursued his passion for culinary arts, working as a chef for many years until his illness in 2014. He was a member of Destiny Church in Huber Heights, Ohio, where he remained steadfast in his faith.

Bruce was united in marriage to Cherry Morrison, his loving wife of 37 years. Together, they built a life centered on love, family, and service.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Pearl Morrison; one sister, Caryl Morrison; and one brother, Larry Moon.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Cherry Morrison; three sons, Aritess Reddish, Tyrone Mansell Sr. (Karen), and Javon Johnson (Schmeka); one daughter, Cherry Mansell (Rashid), all of Dayton, Ohio; his loving siblings, Juanita Moon-Scott, Sheryl Morrison-Pinson, Donald Morrison, and Nathaniel Morrison, Jr.; 15 grandchildren, including two dear to his heart,

Tylashee Mansell and Zy'arah Mansell; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

Bruce will be remembered for his kind heart, deep faith, sense of humor, and love for his family. His legacy of strength and compassion will live on through all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions – North Chapel, located at 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. Pastor Eric Smith of Destiny Church will officiate.
