Brenden Scott Wood, 55, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away on October 5, 2026. Born on March 31, 1971, in Marysville, Ohio, to Brian and Jerralyn Wood (née Scott), Brenden was a gentle and caring person, known for his love of cooking, especially his famous chocolate chip cookies. An avid reader and gardener, he enjoyed the great outdoors and was a dedicated Cincinnati Reds fan.

Brenden graduated from Kettering Fairmont High School and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska. He was loved and cherished by many for being a good friend.

He was preceded in death by his Uncle Robert Lewis, Grandparents, Jack and Anna Jean Scott, and Leonard and Bertha Wood.

Brenden is survived by his parents, Brian and Jerralyn Wood; sister, Lisa (James) Jordan; nieces, Kaitlyn and Maggie Jordan; nephew, Andrew Jordan; Aunt Nancy Lewis; Uncle Gary (Irene) Wood; cousins, Nathan and Ben Lewis; along with many other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions - Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439 with a service to follow at 11:30 am. Brenden will be placed at his final resting place at a later date.
