Brenda J. Paxton

Brenda Joyce Paxton, born Harris on April 14, 1952, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, left this world peacefully on December 12, 2025. Surrounded by her loving family, Brenda exemplified a life filled with compassion, humor, and an unwavering love for those around her.

Brenda dedicated many years of her life to the workforce, where she contributed her skills and compassion while working at Goodwill and ABS. She was not only a diligent employee but also a mentor who inspired many with her outgoing personality and her ability to find joy in everyday life.

In her pursuit of education, Brenda achieved her General Educational Development (GED), demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and learning. This dedication was a reflection of her belief in the importance of education and self-improvement.

Brenda was a devoted wife to her husband of 45 years, Gary Sr., and a loving mother to her children, William Cokeley and Melissa Riggs. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished spending time with them, whether it was going for leisurely walks or engaging in her favorite pastime of collecting snowmen. Additionally, Brenda took great pleasure in working in her flower gardens, cultivating beauty and life just as she nurtured those she loved.

Brenda's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Trent, Mercedes, Brittaney, and Christy, as well as her great-grandchildren, Liam, Jackson, Jaylani, Justin, Faith, and Payton. Each one of them carries forward a piece of her spirit, reminding us all of her loving presence.

She is survived by her sisters, Diane and Sue, alongside many other family members and friends who were fortunate to witness her compassionate nature and infectious laughter. Brenda is preceded in death by her parents, Haywood and Audrey Harris, and seven siblings.

Brenda will be remembered for her loving heart, her joyous spirit, and her profound impact on the lives of those she touched. Her legacy of kindness and love endures in the hearts of her family and friends.
