Listen to Obituary

Brenda Arlette Morris, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 8, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. She was born on January 28, 1948, in Caryville, Tennessee, and across her 78 years, Brenda touched every life she encountered with her warmth, steadfast faith, and gentle strength.

To know Brenda was to understand true generosity and kindness. Her life was a testament to being loving, caring, family-oriented, and deeply rooted in faith. Brenda’s devotion to her family was constant and inspiring. She poured her heart into creating a home where joy was shared in laughter, hugs, and countless cherished moments. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest accomplishments, the source of her pride and delight, and the center of her world.

Brenda’s journey led her from Caryville to Ohio, where she built a life filled with purpose and compassion. She received an Associates Degree from Miami Jacobs Business College, which launched her into a career as an administrative assistant—a role she fulfilled with dedication until her retirement in 2023. In every workplace and community, Brenda was the embodiment of reliability and care, her diligence matched only by her kindness toward others.

Outside of work, Brenda was a master at weaving beauty and togetherness into everyday moments. She loved cooking for her family, tending to her flower garden, and, most of all, gathering those she loved around the table for meals that became treasured traditions. Her hands were seldom still—always crafting new ways to make her home and church welcoming and nurturing. Brenda was a devoted volunteer at her church and served faithfully as a Sunday School Teacher, guiding hearts young and old with her gentle wisdom and faith.

Those blessed to share in Brenda’s life will remember her generosity: a heart always open, hands ever outstretched to help or comfort, and a spirit defined by gratitude. Her unwavering compassion extended beyond her family into the lives of her friends, her church community, and all fortunate enough to experience her presence.

Brenda’s love endures in those she leaves behind: her devoted husband, Marvin Morris; her son Christian Morris with daughter-in-law Cheryl; her daughter Angie Melugin with son-in-law Rick; her son David Morris with daughter-in-law Angela. Brenda’s legacy is beautifully carried forward by her grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kate, Sydney, Noah, Hannah (Charlie), and Bethany, each reflecting some facet of her warmth and kindness. She is also survived by her sister, Diane Brannon; her brother, Raymond Bullock, and sister-in-law Linda Bullock; as well as a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.

She reunites in peace with her dear parents, Ellis and Elsie Bullock and her brother Jerry Bullock.
