Brenda L. Jenkins, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, left this world on May 24, 2025, at the age of 60.
Born on May 19, 1965, Brenda was a remarkable woman whose spirit shone brightly through her kindness and unwavering generosity. She had a green thumb, nurturing flowers that echoed her vibrant personality and brought joy to everyone around her. The beach was her sanctuary, a place where she sought solace and created cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
Those who knew Brenda admired her unwavering will and strength; she faced life's challenges with a determination that inspired all who crossed her path. Beneath her iron will was a heart filled with warmth and a great sense of humor that could light up even the darkest days. Brenda always sought to lend a helping hand, embodying the very essence of compassion and selflessness. Her laughter and love will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Brenda is survived by her loving daughter, Angel Hicks, and her son-in-law, Brandon, who were sources of pride and joy in her life. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Eric, Austin, Bryson, and Maxton, who brought immense happiness to her days. She leaves behind her devoted mother, Ethel Fleming, and her brother, Brian (Jenn), along with sisters Debbie, Cheryl, and Beth, who joined her in navigating life's journey, each fulfilling the tapestry of their family's story. Brenda was also blessed with bonus daughters Samantha & Sarah, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched.
Brenda's memory will be forever held close by those who knew her, especially as they remember her son, James Hicks Jr., whom she is now reunited with. She is also predeceased by her father, Linville Jenkins Sr., her brothers Junior and Henry, and her sister Linda.
Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Jenn Hudson, for the help and care she provided Brenda, and nephew, Brian Jenkins, with whom she shared a special bond.
As we gather to honor Brenda’s life and her beautiful spirit, let us celebrate her legacy—one of love, laughter, and a commitment to helping others. She taught us the true meaning of kindness, and though her physical presence may have departed, her spirit will remain alive in our hearts.
