Brenda K. Hartley of Washington Township passed away January 1, 2024 after a long battle with neuroendocrine cancer. She was born August 13, 1955 in Portsmouth OH, daughter of the late Richard and Carole Dunham.
Brenda is survived by her loving husband Mike, sister Diane Myers, daughter Kelly (Adam) Foglyano, grandkids Giana and Vincent Foglyano: as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Brenda is preceded in death by her parents Dick and Carole Dunham.
A vigil service will be held at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton OH in the Garden of Peace Chapel on January 12, 2024. A gathering will begin at 12:45 pm until the time of service at 1:45 pm. A family and friends dinner will follow. Her ashes will be buried at Calvary Cemetery in the St. Kateri section of the cemetery.
Brenda's life was forever transformed when she met Mike in 1974 and married him in 1977. They were blessed with one daughter, Kelly, who is the light of their lives. That light continued to grow with Kelly's marriage to Adam Foglyano and the two beautiful grandchildren, Giana and Vincent, which they blessed us with.
Brenda loved nature: camping, hiking, kayaking, fires and sitting in a bag chair in the middle of a stream just watching and listening to nature.
Mike and Brenda traveled and camped their way all over the USA, hitting a lot of our national parks; Brenda's favorite place on earth was Hawaii. She actually had an awakening of her spirit while in Hawaii, which they visited three times.
Brenda had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
She enjoyed all types of music, her favorites being Jazz & Americana, loved watching football on the weekends, especially Ohio State and The Bengals.
She enjoyed a glass of white wine with dinner, beer and bourbon around a fire and a Martini on Friday nights,
Brenda led a full life with no regrets.
