Brenda Carol Black, age 72, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on November 6, 1947, the daughter of the late James E. and Ophelia E. Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Michelle Jefferson; and her brother, Robert E. Taylor.
Brenda is survived by her sons, Ronald (Toya) Jefferson, Jr. and Anthony (Tish) Jefferson; many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Taylor, Joanne Taylor and Beverly Taylor; many dear nieces and nephews; her best friend, Liz Miller; and other close friends.
She retired from Richard Allen School, where she was employed for over 10 years as a Child Care Provider. In her free time, she loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the casinos. Her family will always remember her smile and her being the life of the party. Brenda will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 12:30pm-1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, OH. A Celebration of her Life will begin at 1:30pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
