Braxton Kenneth Byrd, affectionately known as "Brax," passed away on June 1, 2026, in Vandallia, Ohio. Born on August 24, 2006, in Xenia, Ohio, Brax was a young man whose vibrant spirit and ambitious nature touched the lives of many.
Brax was a dedicated teller at U.S. Bank, where his professionalism and warm demeanor were appreciated by colleagues and customers alike. A graduate of Smithsburg High School, he was known for his funny, kind, and generous personality. Brax's determination and goal-driven mindset were evident in every aspect of his life. He was constantly striving to grow, both personally and professionally, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He pursued a variety of interests with enthusiasm and passion. Brax loved working out and was an avid football fan, embodying an athletic spirit that inspired those around him. Music held a special place in his heart; he played the saxophone and found joy in creating and sharing melodies. Among his proudest accomplishments was his passion for designing his own clothing label, "Strcld," which showcased his creative flair and ambition. Additionally, Brax demonstrated remarkable intellect by building an AI scanner for the stock market, a testament to his innovative and forward-thinking mind. He also treasured the outdoors and had a deep affection for animals, reflecting a gentle and compassionate side.
Brax is survived by his loving parents, Kenneth (Monique) Byrd and Brandi (Eric) Marlow, who supported and nurtured him throughout his life. He leaves behind cherished siblings: MaKailyn (Aiden) Marlow, Gavin (Celina) Howard, Zibiah Hunter, Brooklyn Byrd, Zaria Hunter-Byrd, Zora Hunter-Byrd, and Zayden Hunter-Byrd; and Savannah Bailey. His paternal grandmother, Betsy Byrd, and maternal grandmother, Deanna Teague, also survive him. Brax’s family circle extends warmly to a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who mourn his passing and celebrate his life.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Kenneth Lee Byrd; maternal grandfather, Jimmy Teague; and maternal great-grandmother, Glenna Bedard.
Braxton Kenneth Byrd’s life, though brief, was marked by kindness, creativity, and a relentless pursuit of his dreams. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, who remember him for his humor, determination, and the joy he brought into their lives. He will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
