Branson Combs, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2025, in Greeneville, Ohio, at the age of 94. Born on September 17, 1930, in Jackson, Kentucky, Branson lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a commitment to his family.

Branson was a proud veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the Tank Division. His bravery and service during a pivotal time in history defined much of his character and instilled in him a deep sense of duty that carried on throughout his life.

In his professional life, Branson owned and operated Combs Drywall, a painting and drywall company which he ran with expertise and pride. After retiring from this venture, he continued to engage with the community by mowing golf courses in Leesburg, Florida, where he found joy in the beauty of the outdoors and a passion for working diligently.

Branson cherished his hobbies, which included laughter, fishing, and a love for racing. He often spent joyful afternoons at the racetrack, happily watching over his own racecar. These activities were not only pastimes for him but were also memories shared with friends and family, reflecting his vibrant spirit and zest for life.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience through his family. Branson is survived by his sons, George (Teresa) Combs and Howard (Annette) Douglas Combs; stepdaughter, Susan Macnamara; stepson, Steven (Maria) Liles; and his beloved sister, Louise Williams. He was a proud grandfather to 22 grandchildren and had many great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by numerous nieces and nephews, including Mark (Mollie) Magee, and a dear friend, Wanda James.

Branson is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Sarah Combs. He was also preceded in death by Sara Combs, the mother of his children; his father, George Combs; his mother, Stella Combs; brothers Otis Combs and Wendell Combs; sisters Juanita Terry and Georgia Combs Kenyon; stepdaughter, Rebecca Brainard; granddaughter, Julienne Combs, and step-granddaughter, Brittney Ward.

Branson Combs will be remembered by his family and friends for his strong work ethic, his love for laughter, and his enjoyment of life. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Everyone is welcome to gather at Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 118 Woodland Ave, Dayton, OH 45409 from 10:30-11:00AM. The committal service will begin at 11AM with military honors.

Immediately following, Branson will be laid to rest at with his wife, Sarah.
