Brandy Nicole Shoemaker

Brandy Nicole Shoemaker, born Brandy Nicole Herbert, passed away unexpectedly on September 8, 2026, at Atrium Medical Center  at the age of 46. She was born on October 9, 1979, in Muncie, Indiana.

Brandy will be remembered as a loving, giving, and one-of-a-kind woman who was always there for the people she cared about. She brought warmth and steadiness to the lives around her, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She attended Madison High School and worked as a Machine Operator at Pac Worldwide. Brandy valued the simple and most meaningful parts of life, especially the time she shared with her family. She spent all of her free time with them, with a special closeness to her niece Peyton, who brought her great joy. Brandy also dearly loved her fur babies and thought of them as her children, caring for them with the same devotion and tenderness that she gave so freely to others.

Brandy is survived by her mother, Debbie Eberly (Michael); her father, Daniel Herbert (Jamie);her husband, John Cope though separated and still close; and her longtime companion and partner, David Howard; her sisters, Christy Herbert and  Cody Herbert (Nathan) her brother, Joshua Herbert; her niece, Peyton Bailey; her nephews Devin Mays(Elizabeth); and Hayden Day; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and her love for her family was at the center of her life.

She was preceded in death by her son, John Albert Frisch Cope III (LJ) whose memory remained forever a part of her heart.

Brandy’s life was defined by love, loyalty, and the care she gave so generously. She leaves behind memories that will be treasured always, and those who knew her will carry her spirit with them in the days ahead. Brandy's legacy of kindness will live on through her final gift. Through organ donation, she was able to give others the precious gift of life, allowing a part of her to live on in others.
