Brad Burton, age 54, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, in the comfort of his own home.

Brad is survived by his soulmate, Deanna Burton; his daughter, Logan Burton; and his beloved grandchild, Savannah, who was truly the light of his life. He is also survived by his father, Jerry Burton (Joyce), and his aunt, Myrna (Cal) Nikons.

Brad was welcomed home by those who preceded him in death: his mother, Verna Dayton (Burton); his grandparents, Charles and Lois Burton; his uncle, Robert Smith; and his great-grandmother, Dorothy Dayton.

Brad loved to farm, but he was also a true handyman in every sense of the word. From working on cars and farm equipment to remodeling, electrical work, and countless other projects, there was very little Brad couldn’t fix or figure out. If something was broken, Brad was the one people called.

Those who knew Brad understood that he could be stubborn and hot-headed at times—but they also knew he would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He cared deeply for his friends and family and was fiercely loyal to those he loved.

Above all else, Brad adored being a Papaw. Savannah had him wrapped around her finger from the very beginning. She was rarely far from his side—his little shadow and greatest joy.

Brad enjoyed spending time at the Moose with friends and family. While he wasn’t much of a sports fan, he could talk endlessly about history and current events, and he was strong and unwavering in his beliefs.

Brad will be tremendously missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is no longer in pain, and the cancer went with him. His strength, generosity, and presence will never be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles in Xenia on January 31, 2026, at 682 W. 2nd St., Xenia, OH 45385. 6pm-10pm. Cash bar.

"God saw you were getting tired

and a cure was not to be.

So He put his arms around you

and He whispered come with me.

With tearful eyes we watched you suffer

and watched you fade away.

Although we loved you dearly,

we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating.

Hard working hands to rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us

that He only takes the best.

It's lonely here without you.

We miss you more each day.

Life doesn't seem the same

since you went away.

When days are sad and lonely,

and everything goes wrong,

We seem to hear you whisper,

Cheer up and carry on.

Each time we see your picture

you seem to smile and say,

Don't cry, I'm in God's hands.

We'll meet again some day."
