Boyd Rector

Boyd Rector, 90, Dayton formerly of Campbell County (Jacksboro), TN, passed away peacefully in New Lebanon, OH, September 15, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Sallie (Beatty) Rector; wife, Peggy Joyce (Marlow); daughter, Mary Joyce; son, David E.; sister, Wonnie Mae Hollifield; brothers, Belford, Lloyd, Paul, Doyle and Kyle, and second wife, Mary Ruth (Mack). Survived by Terry Rector and Jerry "Buck" Rector of Dayton and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Proudly served in the US Army in the Korean Conflict from 09/1950 until Honorably Discharged in 09/1953. Where he achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class, while earning 3 Bronze Stars and a Medal of Valor. Boyd worked many years in construction before retiring from Delco Moraine in 1992. Boyd was an active Life Member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. In lieu of flowers he asked that a donation in his honor be made to The American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association. Memorial Service will be held at the Dayton VA Center Chapel. He will be sorely missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
