Bobbie Jo Slicer

Bobbie Jo Slicer, born on June 2, 1952, in Thomaston, Georgia, passed away on September 12, 2025, in Juneau, Alaska. Her journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, her career, and her community. A graduate of Griffin High School in Griffin, Georgia, Class of 1970, Bobbie furthered her education by attending Technical College to learn IT, equipping her with skills that would serve her throughout her professional life.

For over 20 years, Bobbie made her mark as the Lead Accountant for Southwestern Portland Cement Company, along with holding various other accounting positions with reputable companies such as Arby's, CINTAS, and Blackstone. Her diligence and attention to detail were not only recognized in her workplace but also firmly rooted in her values, which she instilled in her family.

In 1971, Bobbie moved to Fairborn, Ohio, to work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. It was here that fate brought her together with her beloved husband, David H. Slicer. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Bobbie lived her life as the “Quintessential Grandma,” adored by her children, Jason Slicer & Leia Ramey and her husband, Ray, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was the rock of her family—a stable support who encouraged her loved ones to strive to be their best selves.

A proud member of numerous dance clubs, including the 76 Dance Club and Dayton Ballroom Dance Club, Bobbie had a passion for dance that brought her joy and connection with others. Her vibrant spirit also shone as she served her community through the Cub Scouts, leading Pack #68 as a Den Leader and contributing significantly to the training of Boy Scouts alongside Dave. Her efforts were recognized with the Silver Beaver Award, a prestigious accolade in scouting, affirming her commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow.

Bobbie had a deep love for travel and enjoyed filling her days with needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, and doing jigsaw puzzles. An avid Disney fan, she particularly adored Donald Duck, finding delight in the magic that Disney represents. Her caring nature, desire to help others, and infectious joy made her a place of sanctuary for everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In the hearts of all who loved her, Bobbie Jo Slicer will be remembered not only for the accomplishments she achieved and the lives she touched but also for the warmth and support she provided. Her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering strength will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. She joins her beloved parents, Robert Lee and Leona Goodwin, as well as her nine siblings, in a peaceful rest that echoes the love she shared in life. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
