Blanche A. Brandon, born Blanche A. Hall, passed away on August 24, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 23, 1932, in Knott County, Kentucky, and lived a long life marked by devotion to those she loved most.
Blanche was loving, caring, and compassionate, and her family was at the heart of her life. She loved spending time with them and took great joy in having family gathered around her. That gift for making people feel welcome was also reflected in the home and traditions she created. She was passionate about gardening and took great pride in her gardens, tending them with care and delight. She was also an excellent cook and was especially known for her baking, with her creme puffs holding a special place in the memories of those who knew and loved her.
Her life was shaped by deep family bonds, and in death she is now reunited with her husband, William Brandon, Jr., who passed in 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Emmet and Maggie Hall; her daughter, Jennifer Clark; and her siblings Imogene (Ernest "Preacher") Gibson, Gwendolyn (Herman) Combs, Keith Hall, Joyce Pratt, Wanda (Bill) Anthony, Eugene (Laverne) Hall, and Sherry Hall.
She leaves behind a family who will continue to carry her love forward. Blanche is survived by her daughter, Felicia (Billy)Tacket, and by her son-in-law, Jimmy Jones. She is also survived by her grandchildren Heath Tackett; Crystal (Mike Swigert) Tackett; Brandi (Steven) Stratton, and Cheri (Nathan Sheley) Whitmore. Her legacy extends through her great-grandchildren Ethan, Tyler, Ciera, Madison, Amaura, Jordan, and Austin, and through her great-great-granddaughter, Aliyah. She is also survived by her sisters Barb (Garry) Handshoe, Peggy Costa, and Meta Hummel. In each generation, Blanche’s warmth, care, and steady love will be remembered with gratitude. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 31, 2026, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
Blanche will be remembered for the tenderness she shared, the family she cherished, the beauty she cultivated in her gardens, and the comfort she brought to others through her kitchen and her presence. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
